Pest control for Headland properties

Near the courthouse square, older houses may have crawlspaces, porches, and utility openings that deserve a careful look when rodents or roaches show up. Describe where activity appears and whether the crawlspace is accessible. The technician will check the areas included in the inspection and explain any access needs before work begins.

On Headland’s Dothan side, newer subdivisions sit near open peanut and cotton fields. A yard may border a pond, field edge, tree line, or recently disturbed ground. Those details help us focus the inspection. For a rental or business, tell us who can provide access and which rooms or outdoor areas see the most use.

Pests to watch for in Headland

Fire ants build in sunny lawn edges and near walkways, especially from spring through fall after rain. Mosquitoes gather near ponds, low spots, clogged gutters, and outdoor containers during warm months. Wasps may find protected eaves and sheds for nests. When you call, point out the paths, play areas, and seating spots people use most.

Roaches stay close to food, moisture, and warm appliances indoors. Older kitchens, utility rooms, and crawlspace access points deserve attention when sightings recur. In fall, mice and rats may move in from farmland edges, looking for shelter in crawlspaces, garages, sheds, and attics. Droppings, chewing, or scratching sounds help narrow down where to inspect.

How Pest-Ex serves Headland

Pest-Ex starts by asking what you’ve seen, when it started, and which parts of the home or lot need attention. The technician checks mounds, eaves, indoor signs, crawlspace access, and likely entry points where appropriate. We identify the pest, explain the treatment and preparation, then service the confirmed areas.

Ask about recurring visits for seasonal yard and home checks. For a house with a crawlspace, tell us about the access panel and any moisture or repair concerns. The inspection can help identify areas for the owner or a qualified contractor to address. At follow-up, we review activity, answer questions, and discuss next steps. Businesses can share operating hours and customer paths so visits fit their daily schedule.

Between professional visits

  • After rain, check sunny lawn edges and keep people and pets away from active fire ant mounds.
  • Empty outdoor containers and clear gutters where safe to reduce standing water near the home.
  • Store pantry food, pet food, and animal feed in closed containers, especially near field edges.
  • Note the room, date, and location of indoor pest signs before the inspection.
  • Keep crawlspace doors, garage doors, and shed doors closed when they are not in use.

Called a pest control company and they never responded. Called Pest-Ex and they sent a tech out the very next day. Steve was very professional and a joy to talk with. He sprayed the perimeter of the house and I started to see the effects immediately. He didn't try to upsell any services that I didn't need. Pest-Ex earned my trust! Their rates are fair and reasonable if not better than the national chains. With that being said, we signed up for the quarterly treatment option. I don't normally give 5 stars, but Pest-Ex really impressed me!!! Thank you Pest-Ex!
